We deliver jointly awarded undergraduate Newcastle University degrees with Singapore Institute of Technology in chemical engineering, electrical power engineering, marine engineering, offshore engineering and naval architecture, and mechanical design and manufacturing engineering. At Newcastle Research and Innovation Institute, we provide postgraduate education and training with MScs in Electrical Power Engineering, Energy and Sustainability, Marine Technology and Process Safety and Risk Management as well as research degrees (PhD, MPhil). The role 

Newcastle University has three education and research operations, in Newcastle, southern Malaysia and in Singapore. We have operated in Singapore for over 15 years, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students, supervising PGR students and carrying out research.  As you will know it is a tremendously dynamic part of the world where we aim to partner with business, government, alumni and universities to solve some of the global challenges we now face.

The primary role of the Dean (Singapore) and CEO (NU International Singapore Pte Ltd - NUIS) and Newcastle Research and Innovation Institute in Singapore (NewRIIS) is to provide leadership to Newcastle University’s operation and ambitions in Singapore and across the Southeast Asia. The postholder is a senior University leader with both institutional and local responsibility. As such they are accountable for:


•    The academic leadership of the unit ensuring its strategy and objectives are aligned to Faculty and University strategic priorities;
•    The effective governance and management of the unit to ensure its performance continually improves and colleague wellbeing is ensured;
•    Proactive collaboration with NU colleagues in Newcastle, through the creation of opportunities for education and research.
•    Effective and appropriate management and compliance of the limited companies established in Singapore to carry out our activities
