The Role

 

As the Web Delivery Manager, you are responsible for leading the Web Delivery team in the initiation, management and delivery of marketing website projects.

 

You are responsible for managing team members and organising workflow planning to ensure the smooth running of the Web Delivery team. With your project management skills, you are pivotal in organising digital projects across the Marketing Team.

 

In your leadership role you will ensure that all web and digital projects and requests are planned and delivered to specification, within budget and on time.

 

Through your exceptional client and project management experience you will manage the relationship between internal and external stakeholders, including multiple agencies at the same time.

 

Your role will also encompass the management of support for website users, and the delivery of services and governance to optimise user experience.  

 

The Web Delivery Team works closely with the Web Development Team, Web Content Team, external suppliers, and internal stakeholders to deliver web projects.

Key Accountabilities

The Web Delivery Manager (WDM) is responsible for leading project teams in the initiation, management, and delivery of marketing website projects and tasks.

This includes:

  • Full website redevelopment projects
  • Lighter touch website/section enhancement projects
  • Strategic work to enhance and optimise the user experience and impact of the website
  • Supporting campaigns and events teams with recruitment cycle campaigns
  • To line manage members of the team on a day-to-day basis; conducting personal development reviews, developing training plans and organising the allocation and prioritisation of tasks.
  • The role includes receiving briefs/requests for work, assessing priorities across these different streams to ensure organisational strategic objectives are supported in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Build and maintain a positive culture of collaborative delivery and continuous improvement with individuals and the wider Marketing Team.
  • Work with clients to establish project scope and write briefs for approval by appropriate management and key internal stakeholders
  • Manage digital projects from the initial stages through to final delivery; tracking project deliverables and matching those with agreed deadlines.
  • Oversee project financial budgets and notify stakeholders of key cost implications, changes to budget, spending and cost changes.
  • Contribute to the Marketing strategy and roadmap of web-related projects and developments.
  • Be the main point of contact for clients throughout assigned digital projects; seeking and responding to feedback from clients on their satisfaction with the services and products provided.
  • Arrange and participate in internal and external client debrief meetings and planning sessions.
  • Collaborate with developers, designers, and researchers to ensure that the final product is consistent with the client's vision.
  • Ensure all content is on brand and adheres to good user experience practice.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients; maintaining frequent contact with key stakeholders to ensure they are regularly updated on the progress of the project.
  • Embed primary and secondary research into all projects by supporting persona creation, customer journey mapping and user testing to inform a great user experience, including running relevant workshops.
  • Implement measurement frameworks using digital analytics to evaluate all projects and continuously assess working methods and processes to make recommendations for improvement.
  • Other duties as required to support online and digital requirements as required.

 

The Person (Essential)

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Outstanding experience working within a marketing and or digital environment in a project management and customer relationship management role, with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Practiced experience in the use of project management tools e.g. Wrike and the production of related documents e.g. project timelines, resource calculations, project risk analysis etc.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing and carrying out user research would be beneficial. This includes identifying user needs, customer journey mapping, personas, content gap analysis and competitor analysis.
  • Knowledge of how user research and user experience design contributes to the development of digital experiences.
  • Ability to create a strong collaborative work environment to successfully develop collaborative partnerships.
  • Experience managing a team of web delivery managers, user researchers and user experience designers, preferably within a marketing web development environment.
  • Able to manage internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives, identify any issues and resolve them in a timely manner with competing deadlines and limited resources.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven success in building relationships across all levels, internally and externally.
  • Experience of setting digital strategies for clients and writing project briefs, considering their specific requirements, is desirable.
  • To be able to work effectively with colleagues who have a low understanding of their digital needs in order to help them understand and express their requirements.
  • Strong digital marketing and or digital/web delivery and management skill set e.g. use of content management systems.
  • Knowledge of the Higher Education sector is desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience in brand governance is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Graduate or equivalent qualification/working experience
  • Chartered Institute of Marketing qualification or another relevant marketing/communication professional qualification is desirable.
