The Role

Working closely with our Faculty Marketing Managers, you will support the development and implementation of a range of marketing projects and activities to attract high-quality students in line with our strategic priorities.
As Marketing Officer, you’ll be at the heart of creating inspiring content and compelling copy that's accessible and brings our Faculty to life for prospective students. From crafting and building targeted email journeys to shaping engaging digital campaigns, you’ll use your creativity and technical expertise to connect with students and showcase the opportunities we offer.
We’re looking for someone who can combine storytelling with strategy, using data and market insight to understand what resonates with our audiences and drive results. You’ll be confident in managing projects and skilled at building strong relationships with stakeholders.

This position is full-time, with 60% of your time spent on campus. We would be happy to discuss arrangements for flexible working patterns.

Key Accountabilities
- Support the development, implementation and evaluation of effective marketing plans to attract and convert home and international, undergraduate and postgraduate students, reflecting School, Faculty and University priorities and objectives
- Work with key stakeholders to plan, deliver and evaluate subject-focused campaigns to support application generation and conversion
- Coordinate strategic marketing projects, including the development of student testimonials, and the organisation of video, photography and other creative assets to showcase the faculty’s strengths and student experience
- Take a lead role in planning, building and analysing email communications and CRM activity for lead generation and conversion
- Create accessible and engaging content and copy for our target audiences across a range of digital channels
- Support academic Schools in the marketing and delivery of on-campus/online recruitment events such as Open Days and Offer Holder events
- Undertake a range of data analysis, market intelligence and research activities to inform product development, marketing strategy, campaigns, messaging and events
- Provide expert professional marketing advice and guidance to academic Schools within the Faculty, delivering a proactive, responsive and professional service to support them in meeting their targets
- Where relevant, represent the Faculty at higher education fairs and recruitment events, working closely with central teams to ensure integrated activity
- Audit and maintain digital content and channels, providing reviews and recommendations for improvement
- Be flexible and adaptable as priorities and responsibilities change in the faculty, academic units and as we respond to sector challenges and changes
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade as requested
The Person
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Experience of working in a marketing, communications or student recruitment role
- Demonstrable experience in planning, delivering and measuring marketing plans and activities
- A proven track record in planning, creating, and managing targeted email campaigns within a CRM system
- Excellent copywriting, editing and proof-reading skills and experience of creating engaging and accessible content/copy for different platforms
- Experience in reporting to key stakeholders and analysing data using digital/web marketing and analytics tools
- Excellent project, time management and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure to meet multiple deadlines
- Outstanding attention to detail and proven ability to perform accurately and effectively under pressure
- Excellent communicator with highly developed interpersonal and verbal, written and presentation communication styles and approaches
Desirable
- Experience of working in the higher education sector within a marketing or student recruitment role
- An awareness and understanding of current issues, policies and processes relating to marketing and student recruitment in higher education

Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent level qualification or significant vocational experience
- Chartered Institute of Marketing qualification or other relevant professional marketing qualification is desirable
