The Role

 

The Estates and Facilities department are looking for an experienced and reliable Maintenance Joiner to join their dynamic team in day-to-day maintenance across the University, the team has a responsibility for the safe, efficient, and effective development and management of the University academic and residential estate. The estate is seen as a strategic enabler in support of the University Vision and Strategy.

 

Based within the Estates and Facilities team you will undertake a variety of planned preventative and general maintenance and installation tasks, provide a high quality and customer focused maintenance service to the University, as well as supporting other Estates and Facilities teams and trades as required.

In order to be successful in this role you will be proficient in “fault finding“ with experience of general property repairs including but not limited to- hanging doors, general door fixtures and fittings, changing locks or handles, door frame repairs and fire door repairs. You will need to be qualified with a City and Guilds Craft certificate or NVQ level 3, with demonstrable experience, and a customer focused approach to work.

 

A full driving license is essential for this role. You may at times be expected to work unsociable hours or weekends.
