We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Global Partnerships Officer to join Newcastle Global. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing and maintaining relationships with sponsors and global recruitment partners.
You will act as the central point of contact for sponsored students and partner organisations, ensuring the smooth coordination, administration, and reporting of sponsorship arrangements. The role also involves working closely with internal teams and supporting high-level international engagement, including sponsor visits and delegations.

The Global Partnership Officer will play a key role in developing relationships with sponsors and global recruitment partners. A significant component of the role will involve the administration, coordination, and reporting of sponsored students, acting as the central liaison between sponsors, applicants, internal teams, and external partners. This includes communications with sponsored students; liaison with organisations; planning for incoming sponsor visits, including senior level delegations.
This post is full time, and fixed term until December 2027.
Key Accountabilities
- To serve as the central administrative contact for sponsor bodies, including government sponsorship programmes, foundations, international organisations, and corporate sponsors.
- Interpret and administer sponsor agreements, funding and progress report terms and conditions, ensuring application across individual student cases.
- Maintain detailed partner and sponsor records, including contract and contact information, reporting cycles, and official correspondence.
- Deliver a high standard of service to partners and sponsors, prospective and current students, managing expectations and resolving issues effectively
- Respond to enquiries professionally and within agreed service standards, escalating complex or sensitive issues where appropriate
- Submission of progress reports to sponsors and embassies, in accordance with their procedures and timescales including producing attendance letters for sponsored students.
- Maintain oversight of ongoing sponsored student administration, including changes to status, extensions, interruptions, or withdrawals, and notify sponsors as required
- Track partner specific deadlines and obligations, proactively following up with applicants, sponsors, and internal teams as required
- Document sponsor administration processes and contribute to the development of guidance, templates, and standard operating procedures
- Monitor the progress of applicants through the recruitment lifecycle, identifying delays, risks, or missing information and taking corrective action
- Develop effective internal relationships, such as Admissions, Registry, and Academic Schools to help resolve sponsor related issues.
- Assist with the coordination and delivery of recruitment activity, events, delegations, or briefings involving global partners and sponsors, or sponsored students
- Contribute to other relevant duties and activities identified by the Head of Global Partnership Development to optimise sponsor and partner agreements, ensuring delivery against university objectives.
The Person (Essential)
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- An awareness and understanding of issues relating to international HE progression and success across the student lifecycle, for example admissions, student choice, decision making cycle of potential students, entry requirement and implications of external and internal policy drivers.
- Substantial experience of working, and supportive team-working, to provide a professional service to customers and partners
- Substantial experience of working within a complex, busy and varied customer focussed service and demonstrated ability to accept an increasing level of responsibility.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload; ability to work to tight deadlines with a high level of accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, including those relating to tact and discretion, and the ability to relate to, and interact with, persons with diverse cultural backgrounds
- Excellent IT skills and competence in the use of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and databases. Experience of using large digital systems to input data, maintain records, extract information and produce documents and reports.
- Experience of using IT in delivering an integrated high-quality customer service.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.

Qualifications
- A good educational background to at least A level standard or equivalent, including demonstrated writing and numerical skills.
