Salary: £32,080 to £33,002 with progression to £34,610 per annum pro rata

The Role
To support the provision of an effective service for commercial/innovation project activities – with a particular focus on support of the tendering process. With the support of colleagues, this will include tendering portal registrations and support in the submission of tender proposals. In addition, the post will provide support in the consultancy process and other administrative tasks as required.
The position is part time for 18.5 hours on a fixed term basis of 12 months.
This role would be a good secondment development opportunity and we would also be open to shared working arrangements across teams.

Key Accountabilities
- With the support of colleagues, support the management of the University’s registration to tendering portals – ensuring registrations are up to date and horizon scanning for other potential portal registration opportunities. This will include collating many different types of information from a variety of sources across the University and developing a database of such information to facilitate an efficient and speedy portal registration process
- With the support of colleagues, identify and develop tender proposals. Assisting with the preparation of the tender documents. This will again require the collation of information from across University resources – often within a very tight time frame
- Provide support for consultancy projects. This will include full economic costing and pricing advice and liaising with Legal to ensure appropriate contractual arrangements are established
- Develop and maintain an understanding of the requirements of external agencies, including key regulatory bodies, and provide effective guidance and advice across the University
- Make a contribution as part of the team to the development of enterprise activities maintaining and managing relationships with external and internal stakeholders as required
- Anticipate information needs and provide information and analysis of data on specific projects and portfolios of activity as agreed
- Have input to the design and delivery of support mechanisms and processes to ensure the efficient and effective operation and delivery of the Newcastle Innovations service. Troubleshoot and resolve problems effectively. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures. Possess an understanding of areas of concern, governance requirements, conflicts of interest and ethical issues bringing such to the attention of colleagues within the B&I Operations and Support team as required
- Be involved in awareness raising activities. This will include attendance at external and internal events
- Ensure the timely and accurate up-dating of all information on University systems in connection with assigned activities
- With the support of the wider B&I Operations and Support team, work within agreed boundaries with regards to contractual and intellectual property related matters
- Respond effectively and speedily to requests for information and advice across the full range of enterprise activities taking lead responsibility where required
- To provide admin support as required to the B&I Operations and Support team. Also providing support to colleagues in the wider Newcastle Innovations team
- To also work effectively across different Faculty teams and Central Services to ensure the effective operation of Newcastle Innovations and its responsibilities

Qualifications
- A good level of education up to A level or equivalent
