The Role
The Finance Hub is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and suitably qualified person to work as part of the team in the Faculty of Medical Sciences responsible for supporting the financial management of research and other projects across the Faculty. Working in the Post Award Team, you will work closely with colleagues across Finance, Business & Research and the Faculty, both academic and professional services.

Key Accountabilities
- Support the implementation of an effective post-award finance process at the School & Institute level to meet the requirements of the agreed University / Faculty standards
- Provide advice and guidance related to the application of project costing and post award finance across the Faculty and ensure compliance with agreed University / Faculty standards
- Assisting the Faculty Finance Project Business Partners, contribute to the continued development of financial reports specifically to support accurate financial monitoring of projects
- Ensure effective control and compliance to both the University and external sponsor’s regulations, policies and procedures
- Provide advice and guidance related to the post award finance across the Faculty and ensure compliance with agreed University / Faculty standards
- Widen the general understanding of financial issues related to projects by sharing of best practice
- Working with other key members of the Finance Office, e.g. the Contract Financial Management team and, to ensure adherence to regulations and to share best practice
- To undertake any other duties of a relevant nature as required
The Person
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- You will have experience of providing financial support which should include management accounting/reporting and/or financial management of projects
- Experience of working effectively within a large and complex organisation to enable successful collaboration between Finance, Faculty, School / Institute and other University roles
- High degree of literacy and numeracy
- High degree of IT literacy
- Knowledge of SAP (desirable)
- Possess strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Qualifications
- Educated to at least A-level standard (minimum 3x grades A-C) or equivalent standard by experience
- Recent, relevant experience is essential, and it is desirable that you are AAT (or equivalent) qualified/part qualified
