Security and Authorisation Analyst

Salary: £30,942.00 - £44,045.00

The role

Based within the IT Service, you will be part of the SAP Governance and Compliance team and responsible for helping the University develop and manage the SAP Security, Roles and Authorisations across its SAP landscape, developing strategy and implementing and maintaining best practice.

 

You will also be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining processes for best-practise management of SAP roles, authorisations, accounts, testing and transports (in collaboration with colleagues).
  • Active engagement with stakeholders in order to ensure that SAP roles and authorisations are reviewed appropriately.
  • Working closely with internal and external auditors to ensure that all agreed controls are operated effectively and that mitigations are clearly documented and agreed.
  • Providing specialist SAP Governance and Compliance guidance to colleagues within the IT Service.

 

You must have an IT related degree or equivalent level of study, extensive experience in a similar or related role, excellent communication and influencing skills and ideally some exposure to SAP Security Roles and Authorisations, SAP Licence Management and SAP BASIS environments.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain processes for best-practise management of SAP roles, authorisations, and user accounts.
  • Subject Matter Expert across the business and our projects in the field of SAP Security Roles and Authorisations.
  • Identify key University process owners and liaise regularly to ensure that SAP roles and authorisations are reviewed appropriately.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors to ensure that all agreed controls are operated effectively and that mitigations are clearly documented and agreed, thereby ensuring ongoing compliance.
  • Provide specialist support for NUService tickets relating to SAP accounts and access.
  • Provide specialist SAP Security, Role and Authorisations guidance for SAP projects and changes where appropriate.
  • To maintain a high level of understanding of relevant emergent technologies to ensure that the University’s SAP landscape is supported by appropriate SAP Security and Control solutions, in particular regarding Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools. Need to consider rewording this section
  • Through implementing appropriate SAP Security, Role and Authorisation strategies to increase efficiency in development and operations, thereby reducing the total cost of operations.
  • Leverage synergy between role, account and license management to identify licensing efficiencies (for example removal of licences from unused accounts). 
  • On occasion you may be requested to carry out duties not specifically described in this job description. Such requests will be in the interests of maintaining the smooth running and delivery of NUIT services to customers and stakeholders.

  • Experience of delivering, maintaining and improving SAP Security, Role and Authorisations and best practise, e.g. Segregation of Duties

Qualifications

Graduate or have an equivalent professional qualification.
