Salary: 

       Reader: £60,905 - £64,959 per annum

       Senior Lecturer: £51,034 - £54,131 per annum

We are delighted to be recruiting for a Reader or Senior Lecturer in Architecture - Teaching and Research (T&R) pathway or Teaching and Scholarship (T&S) pathway - to work within School of Architecture, Planning and Landscape in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

 

The appointee will be expected to make an important personal contribution to the discipline at Newcastle. We welcome applicants with research or scholarship experience from across the interdisciplinary field of architecture including (but not limited to): design and design research; environmental design; material ecologies; emerging technologies; experimental architecture; history; pedagogy; practice; structures and; theory. We particularly welcome candidates whose expertise bridges two or more of these fields and who can demonstrate excellence in connecting the latest knowledge with teaching. Our colleague community currently has a humanities orientation and we are enthusiastic to receive applications from candidates who can broaden our profile, for example with experience related to climate change, environment, materials, and/or practice. We hope our appointee will take a leadership role in the School in due course.

This post is being offered on either a Teaching and Research or Teaching and Scholarship basis. The former is best suited to applicants who have a significant research profile and teaching experience, usually with a Ph.D, and the latter is best suited to applicants whose career involves a mix of significant practice and teaching.
