The School of Natural and Environmental Sciences at Newcastle University now seeks to recruit a Professor of Sustainable Livestock Production, with a suitably qualified candidate also assuming the prestigious Endowed Chair in Agriculture. This is an exciting opportunity to join a large multidisciplinary School with access to its two University farms at Cocklepark and Nafferton with their variety of commercial and research facilities (NUFarms).

 

Newcastle is one of the leading Universities in Agricultural research and training, with over 125 years of history and a long record of innovation in the sector. The Professor in Sustainable Livestock Production would complement existing research strengths in arable and livestock research, providing the breadth of expertise and leadership required to expand Newcastle’s reputation as a major centre for research and training in sustainable agriculture.

 

Based within the Bioeconomy Directorate and joining the Animal Science Academic Group, the appointee would contribute to the leadership and further development of our expertise in the area of livestock health and welfare.
