Salary: £26,341 to £27,924 with progression to £30,497 per annum

The Role

 

Newcastle University (NU) Advancement is the driving force behind fundraising and alumni and supporter engagement across the University. Our work transforms lives and creates opportunities and communities that have a profound impact across our city, the region and beyond. 
 

This purpose of the role is to provide an outstanding service to individuals and organisations who support Newcastle University. You will liaise with students who receive scholarship funding, produce communications plans, updates and impact reports, support special events, work closely with colleagues to assist in managing the process of allocating and tracking donor-funded scholarships and maintain accurate records of interactions with supporters.
 

This is a fixed term maternity cover role ending 31 July 2023

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the management of long term relationships with donors and supporters
  • Liaise with students and departments who receive funding from University donors and to track the process for allocation of funding 
  • Support the management of special events and VIP visits to the University 
  • Assist in the production of formal donor reports and other forms of communications collateral 
  • Maintain accurate records using NU Advancement's central CRM system (Blackbaud Raisers Edge)
  • Ensure that all donor experience programmes and communications are of the highest standards and adhere to the Fundraising Codes of Practice


The Person
 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience 

  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills, including experience of preparing accurate and compelling reports 
  • Experience of working in an environment requiring high standards of professional presentation and customer service 
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines and of balancing priorities while working on a range of projects simultaneously
  • Ability to demonstrate ambition in spotting opportunities and a positive and creative approach to problem solving
  • Experience of collaborative working and providing support to colleagues in a team

Desirable

  • Experience of accurately updating records using a formal customer relationship management system 
  • Experience of working in a fundraising and / or volunteering environment - this can be in either a professional or voluntary capacity  

 

Qualifications

  •  A Levels or equivalent qualification 

Desirable

  • Formal professional training in customer services, communications or fundraising
