The role


The advertised post is based at Newcastle University London. The role holder will become part of the wider Newcastle University Business School academic community.

This is a fixed-term one-year contract.


We seek to appoint a Lecturer (Teaching & Scholarship) in Business & Marketing Management, who can contribute to our BSc International Marketing and Management, BSc International Business Management, MSc International Marketing programmes, and MSc International Business Management, and who is committed to the success and development of Newcastle University London and Newcastle University Business School. Potential modules that require cover include: Introduction to Marketing; Integrated and Digital Marketing Communications; Digital Marketing; Direct and Digital Marketing. Digital Business; Business Information Systems; Business Enterprise; Management of Creativity, Design and Innovation; and International Entrepreneurship. Individuals with a strong teaching profile, who can teach across business, management and marketing, who care about nurturing students to reach their potential and who connect with organisations are encouraged to apply.


You must have at least one of the following (i) relevant professional qualification or Masters degree; (ii) a PhD (or equivalent) in a related area; as well as the ability to to deliver outstanding teaching in higher education.

The purpose of the post is to develop and deliver teaching and course management for the School’s UG and PG programmes.

  • Contribute to the Business School Vision and Strategy and the interdisciplinary themes of the Future of Work and Leading on Leadership;
  • Provide education for life, that engages, challenges and supports our students to discover and fulfil their potential both while they are studying with us and once they have graduated;
  • Contribute to the Business School’s Triple Accreditation and Professional Body Accreditations;
  • Contribute to the scholarly and practice profile of the Business School and NUL by engaging in scholarly research and activities, impact, practice, CPD and external funding;
  • Demonstrate impact by developing practice-based solutions to real-world problems and engage with external stakeholders to develop the impact of your work;
  • Take responsibility for a defined management or administrative role, such as Module Leader or Year Tutor;
  • Coach and support students throughout their studies in the role of personal tutor, referring students as appropriate to services providing further help
  • Set and mark assessment of modules in accordance with University standards and utilise on-line and digitised curricula and education frameworks;
  • Contribute to curriculum development;
  • Operate as an active citizen in the Business School community and in leadership of education, engagement and place and internationalisation;
